Guided Visit | Elin Danielson-Gambogi: Gazes and Encounters
November 26 @ 16:00 – 17:00
IWCH welcomes you to join a guided tour at the Didrichsen Art Museum, where we will learn about the works and practice of Finnish artist Elin Danielson-Gambogi.

“ELIN DANIELSON-GAMBOGI (1861–1919) was one of the bold innovators of Finnish visual art.
The exhibition Gazes and Encounters explores her work particularly through the perspectives of portraiture, presence, and human relationships.
In Danielson-Gambogi’s works, portraiture is combined with keen observations of everyday life and a subtle treatment of light, colour, and space.”
Didrichsen Art Museum is situated by the sea on Kuusisaari island in western Helsinki. Originally the building was used as the private home of the family Marie-Louise (1913–1988) and Gunnar Didrichsen (1903–1992). The Didrichsen Art Museum was constructed in two phases (1957 & 1964), and both sections of the building were designed by architect Viljo Revell.
