Stories of Women in Ukraine

We are privileged to welcome Mrs. Inna Adamovich, President and Co-founder of STAYWITHUKRAINE Inc. from Texas USA, to share with us firsthand stories of women now in Ukraine.

Russian-born Americans, Inna and her husband Alexander Adamovich, have built one of the world’s most courageous humanitarian efforts through their nonprofit, STAYWITHUKRAINE INC., delivering medical supplies and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

Since the start of Ukraine war, Inna has traveled to Ukraine 19 times, witnessing the realities faced by countless women and families. These are not stories learned from afar. They are stories Inna has seen, heard, and experienced herself.

Inna and her husband are coming to Helsinki for a few days. It will be their first time to Helsinki. Later this October, Inna will make her 20th journey to Ukraine.

Join us to hear Inna’s remarkable experiences, and learn about the stories of the women living through the reality now in Ukraine.

”After 19 journeys, I have realized that the most important things I bring home are not things at all.

They are stories about women.

I am not a military analyst. I am not an academic. I am a woman who keeps going back – and who has had the privilege of getting close enough to see how women live, work, fight, heal, care for others and survive a war that has changed every part of their lives.

Women medics who run toward the wounded.
Women soldiers.
Women volunteers who give far beyond their own limits.
Women rescuing animals abandoned by war.
Mothers, daughters, wives, professionals and caregivers – women who continue to build, work and love while living under the threat of missiles and drones.

I call them my Ukrainian love stories – not romantic stories, but stories about women and the extraordinary ways they continue to love life, other people and their country in the middle of war.

I have witnessed them. And I realized how much Ukraine and Ukrainian women changed me. Made me strong, proud and powerful.
