Visit to Helsinki Expo and Convention Center, Messukeskus

September 28 @ 15:00 17:00

Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Finland’s largest event and congress venue.

Founded in 1919, just two years after Finland gained independence, the Finnish Fair Corporation was established to promote Finnish business through meaningful encounters; a vision that continues to guide Messukeskus today.

Today, Messukeskus welcomes over one million visitors annually. Its events generated an economic impact of €304 million for the Helsinki metropolitan area in 2025, while international congresses alone contributed more than €57 million. Sustainability is an integral part of its business strategy, making Messukeskus a pioneer in sustainable event management both in Finland and internationally. Through the Finnish Fair Foundation, the organisation also supports Finnish innovation, design, culture and business by awarding approximately €500,000 in grants and recognition each year, including the prestigious Kaj Franck Design Prize.

During the visit, we will hear how world-leading scientific congresses are brought to Finland, discover how events such as Slush transform the venue, and learn why the Helsinki Book Fair, attracting more than 100,000 visitors, has become one of Europe’s most celebrated cultural events.

A member of the Messukeskus management team will welcome the group, followed by a guided presentation by Paula Blomster, International Sales Manager, who is responsible for bringing major international scientific congresses to Helsinki.
